Keel laying ceremony: World Dream
Papenburg, 11 January 2017 – MEYER WERFT held the keel laying ceremony for the new cruise ship World Dream with yard number S.712 in the covered building dock II. Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman and CEO of Genting HongKong, joined Bernard and Tim Meyer (CEO Meyer Werft) and Thatcher Brown, President Dream Cruises in plac-ing the lucky cent on the bracings, before the 800 ton crane lowered the first block of the second building phase for the new ship.
First departure for the new scheduled RoRo service
from the Cuxport terminal to Norway
The official launch of the Nor Lines RoRo service between Cuxhaven and Norway took place on 7 May with the first departure of the MS “Kvitbjørn”
One departure per week will link the Cuxport terminal with a large number of Norwegian ports from now on. Cable drums formed part of the cargo on board the freighter “Kvitbjørn”, which is powered by liquid natural gas (LNG).

Siemens selects Cuxport as the service logistics

Cuxport has signed an agreement with Siemens covering logistics operations for services for the following offshore converter platforms:
BorWin 2, HelWin 1, HelWin 2 and SylWin 1
The long-term contract will come into effect in May this year. The agreement covers the acceptance, storage and picking of a wide variety of goods, packing and unpacking containers, loading and unloading the
vessels made available by Siemens, handling heavy-duty items and providing pick-up and final delivery runs.

New scheduled RoRo service connects Cuxhaven
The Norwegian shipping company Nor Lines is launching a weekly scheduled service between Cuxhaven and Norway in April 2015. Two
new RoRo vessels powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be used on this service. In addition to performing the handling work, Cuxport will also operate as the clearance and booking agent. The port logistics specialist will also carry out the marketing work for Nor Lines in Germany
